Post herpetic neuralgia

Post herpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a severe ongoing nerve pain condition associated with shingles, which persists long after the shingles rash has healed. The most common symptom is pain in the area where the shingles rash occurred. Pain can be mild or excruciating, momentary or constant. PHN is more common in adults aged over 60, however younger people can also be affected. For more information visit www.itsnotjustshingles.com.au or call the Pain Link Helpline 1300 340 357.
